We completed our DOL for this week; the quiz is tomorrow. Remember to bring your DOL practice sheet to turn in for you weekly class participation grade.
We finished listening to Tim O'Brien's short story "Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?"
I returned the paragraphs (2nd revision) and instructed students to write this copy as a final to be assessed on the following: a clearly stated topic sentence, 3 examples for the text validating the topic sentence, 3 sentences that provide commentary on those examples and how they support the topic sentence, and a transitional sentence that informs the reader what the next paragraph will address. These paragraphs are due tomorrow, Friday, September 3rd.
